mFortune Mobile Review

Introduction
Many people that are familiar with the world of online casinos will likely be aware of mFortune. The company have been one of the leading casinos for a number of years now and, based out of the UK, have managed to adopt a wide global following to help them reach this standing.
As with any company in the online gambling industry it makes sense for them to try to branch out into other sectors such as poker, and this is exactly what mFortune have done. Whilst many poker players may not have heard of mFortune – in the poker sense at least – they are now starting to take note as this company is making rapid strides with some innovative products. One of these has been in the form of their iPad poker app and whilst they won't have the sizeable budget of some of the larger poker rooms, have definitely made a decent run at some of the big boys in the industry.
Download information and Welcome bonus
The mFortune app is very simple to download and you can do so by accessing any of the links on this page. It's worth noting that the app is actually one of the least data hungry poker apps at a little over 200mb making it relatively quick to download. We would recommend doing so on a Wi-Fi connection where possible in order to not run up big data costs from your network provider.
As with the majority of mobile poker apps you can register directly from the app itself. But unlike most apps the process is relatively simple within the mFortune app. We'd still recommend doing it via your desktop first, if not for ease but for added security measures. But we found the process to be a simple one where others have been a chore to say the least.
There are two bonuses on offer from mFortune. The first comes in the form of £5 completely free to use at any of the real money poker tables. This will be credited to your account as soon as you activate it. The second comes in the form of a more traditional deposit bonus. The bonus is 100% of your first deposit up to a maximum of £100. This can be cleared at any real money table but we found the bonus clearing conditions quite tough to fulfil and would think that lower volume players may struggle to clear the whole bonus within the 90 day timescale.
- Websites also provide games without registration or download, which saves you a lot of time filling those necessary registration forms. You can even win real money or gifts on these sites while playing online bingo for free. Bingo on Facebook applications: Facebook has successfully integrated and marketed bingo to its visitors. Online bingo is.

mFortune Interface and Features
The first thing that really strikes you about the mFortune app is that it's very brash. This isn't a bad thing; in fact it looks a lot different to the majority of poker apps – from the lobby, anyway – which is always a positive in our eyes in what can be a very overcrowded and sometimes mundane marketplace. In fact, the app is just in general a lot of fun and this definitely comes to foray with its design.
The lobby allows you to select between a host of different options including real money tables, free to play tables, banking, refer a friend and other games (mainly casino). Alongside this are the help and support features, options (which literally allows you to just change your passcode, weird!?) and a handy inbox section where you can keep up to date with all the latest offers and promotions. In fact, the inbox will be where you are first made aware of your free £5 token to use at any of the real money poker tables.
If you have read our iPhone review of the app then you will be aware that we weren't massively keen of the lobby section, but in all honesty with the additional screen size of the iPad, it actually works quite well. There's so much more space and it doesn't feel cramped or simply thrown together.
Once you get into the real money section you be greeted with a further four options which include go to tables, play with friends, settings and create a private table. The settings section allows you to edit things such as your avatar and also allow you to select what action should be taken in case of a loss of signal with the app. It's a simple addition, but something that you would be surprised how many of the ‘leading' poker apps actually fail to include.
The games section is a really great place to table select properly and you can quickly select between which table you want to choose and also which stakes you want to peruse. On top of that you can see which players are sat at each table and also if you have made any previous notes on them at the tables, making the mFortune iPad app one of the best in the business when it comes to table selecting.
One of the most interesting additions to the app has to be the integration with friends. From this they have formed the private table section and this is definitely a first for us from mobile poker apps. Creating private tables for friends to join is a really fantastic way to integrate something that's just going to be so much fun and could change how we play our home games in the future. Think instead of having to have all the equipment that goes with a poker table, simply have a group of friends round playing over the app.
One thing we would like to point out on the iPad is how easy ( or indeed difficult) it is to select some of options. Sometimes it has taken a couple of times for the app to distinguish which section we are trying to click, and whilst we don't actually get any problems at the table, throughout the lobby can be tough to navigate sometimes.

Table mode
The tables look really good in our opinion and seem much more light hearted than others that we have reviewed. The colours work well and the fact that everything just looks so good on the retina display really adds to the depth of the app.
There aren't a massive amount of table options on the app to be honest, simply a chat and hand history function. The hand history section is handy when trying to work out the previous order of play. Unfortunately a big downside is the lack of four coloured deck and quite a few times we have managed to mix up the diamonds and hearts cards as they look very similar indeed.
The button layouts are easy to flick between and making selections for actions such as call, check, fold or raise is a simple enough process. To speed up the gameplay they have a clock on every action and there is no time bank. This isn't really an issue until you come across a slight lag when pressing some of the table buttons; this has only happened on a couple of occasions though.
Verdict
Overall the mFortune app is a really solid effort from the company. We love the fact that it looks a little different from its competitors and it definitely has that quirky edge to it which is instantly recognisable. It's probably not as polished as some but there's definitely a ‘fun' factor that goes with the app.
There are areas where it can be improved however, and we think that the tables may be a little cluttered with all the player images and in all honesty what looks like clip art that seems to be plastered all over peoples avatars. This could probably be done without and a much cleaner table view would be on offer.
It's worth remembering that the app is heavily associated with casino players and this is something that we have found massively beneficial in terms of standard of play. Through the various stakes that were tested the games seemed well below average with some being massively juicy.
The positives massively out way the negatives with the mFortune iPad poker app and with a few tweaks here and there it could soon compete with some of the bigger players in the industry.

MFORTUNE INTRODUCTION
Mfortune Poker App Download
While most poker companies have entered the mobile gaming industry fairly recently and have a lot of experience dealing with the PC-based online poker market, mFortune started off as a mobile-only endeavor and quickly climbed to the very top, winning the 2012 best mobile poker operator award and beating sites like PokerStars and Bwin in the process. What makes mFortune so special is the fact that this previously unknown operator managed to create an exclusive network for mobile users only, which utilizes the same application – in terms of functionality – whether your device is running Android or you're using a new iPad Mini.
DOWNLOAD & WELOME BONUS
As mentioned above, playing on mFortune requires you to install a rather unique software package. To get your Android installation package, you have to provide your cell phone number first. Once the application has been successfully installed, you have to sign up for a new account on the mFortune's exclusive poker network. The forms are fairly long, so providing all the necessary information using a mobile device can be a little tedious. Fortunately, you can access the mFortune site using your desktop computer and click one of the play modes to complete the registration there.
New players at mFortune receive £5 free welcome bonus and the instant £100 first deposit bonus. The great thing about the £5 instant bonus is you are not required to make a deposit.

INTERFACE & FEATURES
The first thing you will notice upon making your way through the initial registration process is just how good the visual design of this app is. The layout features a tasteful and, more importantly, highly contrasting mix of red and white, allowing you to quickly distinguish each button from the background. This makes navigating the menus a breeze, which is quite important since this app is significantly more feature-rich than other, similar offerings.
The main menu allows you to Refer a friend to get a neat £5 bonus when they sign up, gives you easy access to other mFortune mobile games, allows you to check your on-site inbox and even features an extensive Help & Support section complete with some basic explanation of poker rules – but since you're reading this, you are probably more interested in the app's functionality as a mobile poker client.
This is where the mFortune app truly shines. Play For Fun allows you to compete against other players without risking your money. As usual, I recommend using this option to get familiar with the peculiarities of this app before diving into any real money games even if you're an experienced mobile poker player, as taking the slow approach allows you to familiarize yourself with the interface without making any serious mistakes that would otherwise cost you money.
Play For Real Money, on the other hand, is the 'real' thing. Here, you can win real money from real opponents, but unfortunately Texas Hold'em is the only game that's currently available. What makes this room cool is the fact that you can select the tables you want to play on, which makes hunting for fish significantly easier.

I mentioned that mFortune has a separate pool of players. If you're an experienced contender, this should get your heart racing – you'll be facing off against mobile users here. There won't be many desktop-proficient players around, and even when you do stumble upon one you can rest assured that he isn't going to have an edge over you in terms of functionality of his or her client.
What this means is that your competition is going to be extremely soft, as mobile poker players generally don't care about winning or losing – and here you have the chance to take full advantage of table selection. Simply put, mFortune poker is a goldmine for people who did their homework – and even the newcomers should have a chance when it comes to walking away with a profit instead of feeling wronged in one way or another.

VERDICT
All in all, mFortune is a rather unique poker room that makes desktop and mobile device users equal. Unlike other apps, it doesn't force you to compete against PC-based players who have control over several tables and there's no way that someone gets more money without actually outplaying you.
This means that mFortune is rather unique when it comes to Android poker apps, granting you a special chance to take part in an honest competition. The registration could be quicker, but in the end you're a player – and players want to be competitive. You won't get a more competitive mobile poker client than that.
